Families in Scotland should not use advice intended for England as there are important legal differences.

Among other differences between England and Scotland is the crucial difference that in Scotland one must  seek permission to deregister whereas in England deregistration is upon instruction by the parents.

This web site does not seek to advise families in Scotland and we advise those living there to seek advice from Schoolhouse, a parent run home education support charity operating in Scotland.
